Lucy Anderson is a London Labour Member of the European Parliament. She took office in July 2014, and is spokesperson for the European Parliamentary Labour Party on transport and tourism.
Lucy's background is as a lawyer and campaigner, and her areas of expertise include transport, postal services, health policy, employment rights and equality law. Lucy has been a Labour Party member and trade union activist in London for many years, and was a Labour Councillor for the London Borough of Camden from 2002-6.
During her time as a local Councillor, she held positions as Chair of Licensing and Executive Member for Schools. Before becoming an MEP, Lucy was employed as a senior manager for the National Union of Teachers for five years, and before that as a Business Manager at the Greater London Authority. Lucy also worked from 1997 to 2006 for the Trades Union Congress as a policy and legal expert, where her work including campaigning for effective implementation of European Union directives.
